The "slashed fabrics" technique used on the designs in this package are created by using layers of different color fabrics stitched onto a purchased or made garment/accessory then slashed or cut with sharp scissors into patterns. Machine washing and drying causes the slashed areas to open up and fray in interesting ways.
Fabrics and Notions:
Fabrics: 100% cotton fabrics are required to make any of the slashed fabric projects in this pack. Shirt A also in Broadcloth, Lightweight Denim, Oxford Cloth. Not suitable for obvious diagonals. Extra fabric needed to match plaids, stripes or one-way design fabrics. For pile, shaded or one-way design fabrics, use with nap yardages/layouts.
Notions: Matching or contrasting thread. Water soluble marking pen. A: Twelve ½" buttons or decorative snap fasteners. B: Twelve ½" buttons, one hook and eye. E: One ¾" button form to be covered, one pin back finding. Look for Simplicity notions.
